About Meta Business Verification

Business verification is required to access certain WhatsApp API features, advertising, developer, billing and spending features. While not mandatory for all businesses, verification is required to scale on the WhatsApp Business Platform.

Verification Paths

Business verification can be initiated using different methods:

• Partner-led Business Verification (PLBV): The fastest, easiest and most reliable way to verify businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform and can provide access to full WhatsApp API capabilities from day one. PLBV can be initiated at the end of the Embedded Signup, after number registration, or later by contacting our support team.

• Standard Business Verification: This is the standard Business verification flow and can be initiated at any time from Meta Business Portfolio> Security Centre.

• Meta Verified for Business: Available at any time through a paid subscription, once eligibility requirements are met. Recommended for businesses with a strong online presence that want to protect their brand, build customer trust, and leverage advanced subscription benefits across channels.

Accepted documents types

Businesses will need to upload official documents in Meta Business Suite or using PLBV to prove that the business is registered.

• Documents must be official, valid, and not expired.

• Supporting business documents must be in one of the following supported languages: Arabic, Bengali, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese.

FAQs

Is Business Verification the same as the blue badge?

No. Verification confirms your Business Manager. The green Official Business Account (OBA) badge is requested separately after verification.

Can I show my display name before full verification?

Yes. Since April 2024, meeting message quality criteria and passing display-name review enables display name without full verification. Note that this can be available for some users as Meta controls the rollout for non-verified business.
