# 2FA
Two-step verification (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to the WhatsApp Business Platform. It is applied on the phone number level. On our platform, 2FA is enabled by default for all registered phone numbers.
When two-step verification is enabled, any attempt to register the phone number on WhatsApp requires the six-digit PIN created during setup. This is why you are asked to disable two-step verification before migrating your phone number to another WhatsApp Business Account or Meta business portfolio.
Two-step verification is managed directly through **Meta Business Manager > WhatsApp Manager** within the phone number settings. Please note that we do not provide access to 2FA settings via 360Dialog APIs.
### Who Can Disable 2FA?
Only a 360Dialog client or an administrator of the Meta business portfolio can disable 2FA. If you own the phone number, but have lost access to your **Meta business portfolio**, you can request our support team to disable two-step verification on your behalf.
For security reasons, we cannot disable 2FA at the request of anyone other than a client - this means that your Partner cannot request disabling your phone number's two-step verification.
### How to Disable 2FA

Select **Two-Step Verification** from the navigation panel, then click the **Turn off two-step verification** button

An email with a link will be sent to the email address associated with the business portfolio.
