Template Editing Limitations Edited templates will be submitted to Meta for approval once in a 24-hour window or up to 10 times in a 30-day window. The edited version will appear in the 360dialog hub with the "last sync" date, referring to when it was last submitted.

Template Approval Process

All templates must undergo a review process by Meta before they can be sent to customers. The status of this review is indicated by the background colour of the template in the Hub.

Creating Templates

To begin the creation process, click Add Template on the management homepage.

When defining a new template, the following fields must be completed:

  • Name - Give the template a meaningful name that describes its purpose. Template names are limited to a maximum of 512 characters, consisting of lowercase alphanumeric characters and underscores.

  • Category - Select the category that best fits the intent (Marketing, Utility, or Authentication).

  • Allow Template Category Change – Yes. Meta can now recategorise any template without requiring specific permission.

  • Template Type - Choose between:

    • Standard (text only)

    • Media & Interactive. Use message template building blocks to create a rich template: Header (text, Image, Document, Video) , Body, Footer, Buttons, Call Permission, Limited Time Offer

  • Language - Specify the language for the content. Additional languages can be added later.

Click Preview and submit to review the template before submitting to Meta for review.

Template Variables

Variables allow for the insertion of dynamic, personalised content into message templates. This ensures that a single template can be used for multiple unique customers by pulling data such as names, order numbers, or appointment dates from a database.

Variables are represented by a specific placeholder format: double curly brackets containing a number, such as {{1}}.
