Meta Business Portfolio

This page describes Meta Portfiolios (formerly Meta Business Manager)

A Meta business portfolio allows organisations to bring all their Meta business assets together so they can be managed in one place. On the WhatsApp Business Platform, a business portfolio mainly serves as a container for WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABA).

You must have a business portfolio to use the WhatsApp Business platform.

A company can have multiple Meta Business Portfolios. However, unless there is a clear reason to separate assets across different Portfolios, we recommend maintaining just one.

A Meta Business Portfolio can contain multiple WABAs.

Each Meta Business Portfolio can register up to 20 phone numbers.

Create a business portfolio

Before you begin

  • You must have access to Meta Business Suite, using either your Facebook profile or a managed Meta account.

  • If you have a managed Meta account, you must have organisation management permissions in Organisation Manager. If you click the link and you are redirected to Home in Meta Business Suite, this means you do not have access to Organisation Manager. If you have people migration and/or IT settings access in Organisation Manager, but not organisation management permissions, then you will not be able to create a business portfolio.

  • To keep the Meta platform safe from harm and to prevent advertising abuse, Meta only grants access to some features when an advertiser has met certain requirements. This means that when you create a new business portfolio or ad account, you may not have access to all advertising features. You can see what features you currently have access to, and find out what actions you may need to take to access additional features in Business Support Home.arrow-up-right

  • Check within the organisation if a Meta Business Portfolio already exists before creating a new one. This is to avoid creating duplicate or unnecessary Business Portfolios.
