Marketing Messages Lite API (MM Lite API) offers automatic optimizations for marketing message deliveries. In comparison to Cloud API, MM Lite API may improve experience for marketing message recipients.

MM Lite API allows a business to:

  • see equal or higher delivery and read rates of marketing template messages vs. Cloud API

  • measure the Conversion ROI of marketing message campaigns, by measuring when users complete events on a business's website or app (e.g. add to cart, checkout, purchase) after clicking on a marketing message. This requires business integration with or to report conversion events

  • take advantage of exclusive marketing features not available on Cloud API, e.g. Time-to-live for Marketing messages

  • easily transition from Cloud API, by using the same marketing templates and message send payload format

  • continue to leverage Business Messaging Partners for additional capabilities and support beyond the first MM (i.e., chatbot to complement MM, Flows, CDP/segmentation, etc.)

MM Lite works seamlessly with the Cloud API, which means there’s no need to change your current UI. To start using MM Lite, you’ll only need to update the endpoint and configure the webhook to receive metrics.

You can also switch between Cloud API and MM Lite at any time, as both options will remain available to you.

Pre requisites

To join the program, please, ensure the following requirements are met:

  1. The clients you will onboard to the MM Lite API must already be connected to the Cloud API.

Some locations may have specific limitations due to Meta's Policies and/ or local regulations. If your clients are on the following regions:

  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea,

  • United States,

  • Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and three sanctioned regions in the Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk)

How to get started

  1. Is it mandatory to become a Tech Provider to start using MM Lite?

  2. Can you provide a test environment beforehand?

  3. Will it be necessary to change the UI to accommodate MM Lite?

    The only change required is updating the endpoint used to send messages. No major modifications to the partner UI are needed. Additionally, we do provide the onboarding link to streamline the process.

  4. What kind of data will we be able to retrieve from MM Lite responses?

  5. Do you have a UI or tool that provides an overview of campaign results? If so, what kind of data will be available (read rate, click rate, etc.)?

  6. Can we migrate all existing client accounts using the Cloud API to MM Lite?

    Yes. The onboarding process is per business, so you will need to onboard all clients that should have access to the API.

  7. What changes are required on the partner’s end?

Your partner ID must be a connected Tech Provider. If you are not a tech provider yet, please, start the process with .

The metrics available can change based on your region and the Ads surfaces connected. You can get the complete list in .

We do have specific endpoints for you to retrieve programmatically this info as well per each Ads ID. Please, check the documentation to learn more.
