Meta Business Verification is a process that confirms the legitimacy of a company within Meta’s ecosystem. A verified business gains access to higher trust, extended capabilities on WhatsApp, and stronger brand credibility across Meta platforms.

While not mandatory for all businesses, verification is highly recommended if you want to:

• Grow your presence on WhatsApp.

• Apply for the Official Business Account (OBA) badge.

• Increase customer trust.

• Register more than two phone numbers.

Since April 2024, some businesses may display their approved name without completing full verification, provided they meet message quality standards. However, full verification is still the safest path to unlock all features.

Verification Paths

Verification can take place at different stages depending on the method:

• Partner-led Business Verification (PLBV): Can be completed during account creation (after OTP validation) or later via partner support. Best suited for businesses that have not yet started any verification process and want to unlock WhatsApp API benefits from day one.

• Standard Business Verification: Performed after your Business Manager is fully set up. Ideal for businesses that are ready to expand their verified presence across multiple Meta channels (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp).

• Meta Verified for Business: Available at any time through a paid subscription, once eligibility requirements are met. Recommended for businesses with a strong online presence that want to protect their brand, build customer trust, and leverage advanced subscription benefits across channels.

How to Verify

There are two main verification flows available, plus an additional subscription option that enhances your benefits with Meta Verified for Business:

FAQs

Is Business Verification the same as the blue badge?

No. Verification confirms your Business Manager. The green Official Business Account (OBA) badge is requested separately after verification.

Can I show my display name before full verification?

Yes. Since April 2024, meeting message quality criteria and passing display-name review enables display name without full verification. Note that this can be available for some users as Meta controls the rollout for non-verified business.
