What is WhatsApp Business Verification?

Meta Business Verification increases your WhatsApp Business API credibility by:

• Enabling higher messaging limits

• Displaying your official business display name to end users

• Allowing eligibility for the Official Business Account (OBA) green badge

Although not mandatory for 360dialog clients, it is highly recommended for businesses that:

• Want to grow their presence on WhatsApp

• Intend to earn the OBA green badge

• Aim to build greater trust with customers

• Wants to register more than 2 phone numbers

Display Name Without Full Verification

Since April 2024, businesses that meet message quality criteria and pass display name review can have their name displayed in chats without completing full Business Verification.

Note: This feature is being gradually rolled out by Meta. We do not have information on whether it will apply to all businesses.

How can I verify my WhatsApp Account?

There are three main verification flows, each tailor ed to different onboarding needs:

Accelerated Onboarding

Accelerated Onboarding is a simplified process that can be completed at the time of account creation, after OTP validation, or via support ticket for accounts already created.

This process affects only the WhatsApp Business Account, meaning it does not apply to Instagram accounts or Facebook pages, and allows you to:

• Increase the messaging limit to 1,000 messages/day

• Increase the channel limit to up to 20 phone numbers

• Request an Official Business Account (OBA) blue verified badge

• Use your chosen display name (must be approved by Meta)

• Verify the WhatsApp account without using a website (business legitimacy will be manually validated by 360Dialog before Meta submission)

Approval time:

• 5 minutes to 24 hours when completed via Embedded Signup (after 360Dialog validation)

• Up to 48 hours when submitted via support

Regular Business Verification

This is a more complete process, valid for all business assets such as Instagram and Facebook pages, and performed at the Business Account level.

Verification affects all Business Assets and allows you to:

• Increase the messaging limit to 1,000 messages/day

• Increase the channel limit to up to 20 phone numbers

• Request an Official Business Account (OBA) blue verified badge

• Use your chosen display name (must be approved by Meta)

• Requires a website and online presence

Approval time:

• Up to 14 business days when submitted

FAQs

Is Business Verification the same as the blue badge? No. Verification confirms your Business Manager. The green Official Business Account (OBA) badge is requested separately after verification.

Can I show my display name before full verification? Yes. Since April 2024, meeting message quality criteria and passing display-name review enables display name without full verification. Note that this can be available for some users as Meta controls the rollout for non-verified business.
