How can I switch to a different phone number in the WhatsApp Business API?

You cannot directly change a phone number in the WhatsApp Business API.

To use a different number, you need to register the new number through the Embedded Signup flow. Once the new number is active and functioning, you can delete the old one if it’s no longer needed. Newly registered numbers start at the lowest messaging tier and are automatically upgraded based on usage over time.

What are the requirements for a business to be approved?

Business must comply with WhatsApp’s policies and ensure it's use case aligns with WhatsApp's guidelines.

Specifically, the business must adhere to:

• WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy

• WhatsApp Messaging Guidelines

Failure to meet these requirements can result in rejection or restriction of access to the platform.

Which countries are blocked from using the WhatsApp Business Platform?

Phone numbers from the following countries are blocked:

• Cuba (+53)

• Iran (+98)

• North Korea (+850)

• Syria (+963)

Can I access the profile picture (avatar) of a WhatsApp user via the WhatsApp API?

Unfortunately this feature is not supported.

Can a WhatsApp API number message another WhatsApp API number?

No, this is not possible. WhatsApp API accounts can only send messages to regular WhatsApp accounts or WhatsApp Business Account, not to other WhatsApp API accounts.
